NBA Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas is investing $3 million in his company One World Pharma, which grows hemp and marijuana in Colombia.
Thomas, who played 13 seasons for the NBA’s Detroit Pistons, became CEO of One World Pharma in July.
The company is located in Las Vegas but has a 30-acre regional cultivation facility in Popayan, Colombia, that focuses on cannabis genetics. One World says the $3 million will be used to expand farm operations in Colombia and seek additional certifications for its THC seeds.
Thomas is also partner and owner of Vesl Oils, which operates in Colorado and Oklahoma. In Colorado, the company focuses on CBD products; in Oklahoma, it focuses on medical marijuana and THC byproducts.
One World Pharma trades on over-the-counter markets as OWPC.
