In Conversation With: Mina Mishrikey of Merida Capital

Welcome to the National Hemp Association’s In Conversation Series where we highlight our business members and affiliates.

In this installment, NHA Executive Director, Erica Stark, interviews Mina Mishrikey of Merida Capital

Why invest in hemp? The Total Addressable Market (TAM) is massive!

Not to mention, it might be nice to address saving our planet!

Merida Capital Holdings is a private equity firm targeting fundamental growth drivers underpinning the rapid development of the cannabis industry. Mina joined Merida in 2018 and heads the Investment Team where he is responsible for deal sourcing, due diligence, portfolio analysis and management. He also serves on the firm’s Investment Committee and represents Merida in its capacity as a sub-advisor for rePlant Hemp Impact Fund, which is focused on investing in hemp-based technologies to decarbonize the global economy.

In talking about the potential of hemp fiber and grain, Mina said, “We are a fiduciary, so we want to obviously make money for our investors. So, while there are my personal views on what this plant can do, make no mistake about it, we are greedy bastards, and we view this as one of the best opportunities in this space.”
