In Conversation With: Sarah Mitchell of King’s Agriseeds

Welcome to the National Hemp Association’s In Conversation Series where we highlight our business members and affiliates.

In this installment, NHA Executive Director, Erica Stark, interviews Sarah Mitchell of King’s Agriseeds

A Sit Down with a Horticulturist

“Add hemp into the agronomic system and build a trust.”

Sarah Mitchell of King’s Agriseeds dives into certified seeds, forecrops, and their hemp trials on their field. “Forecrops are in preparation of what happens later; it’s the buildup to planting hemp, and we’ve doing this with other crops. We have some mixtures that you plant in the Fall that can impact corn for example. We have seen an improvement in yield and in vigor and in weed control with corn based on particular mixes that we offer.”

Mitchell continues to discuss soil health and the difference between forecrops and cover crops and their similarities and differences.
