Alert NV: “AB253 proposes the creation of a legal framework for cannabis concierge’s in Nevada”

I am excited to provide you with information about AB253, a bill currently being reviewed and discussed in the Nevada 82nd Legislative session.

AB253 proposes the creation of a legal framework for cannabis concierge’s in Nevada, allowing for the safe sale and consumption of cannabis products at events with a minimum attendance of 750 people and only for individuals aged 18 and above. These licenses are similar to the current beer, wine and liquor concierge licensees.

The bill was proposed by Cannabis Equity and Inclusion Community (CEIC) and sponsored by Assemblyman Cameron “CH” Miller. If passed, this license would be regulated by the Cannabis Compliance Board (CCB). The CCB would establish rules and regulations for cannabis concierges to follow. Similar to Consumption Lounges, this would cover issues such as security, product quality, and public health.

Additionally, the bill establishes a minimum threshold requirement for jurisdictions to allocate where a cannabis concierge could vend, but it is not intended to designate, license, or permit events that could have cannabis sales.

We understand that you may have questions regarding the specifics of the bill. Therefore, we have compiled a list of frequently asked questions (FAQs) that may assist you in understanding the intricacies of AB253. The FAQs cover a range of topics, including who would be allowed to have a cannabis concierge, how it would be regulated, whether there would be any associated fees, and more.
